FAQ
- What do I need to do with my flowers before bringing them to you?
Give them a fresh cut about 1" from the bottom of the stem if possible. Put them in fresh water. I like to get them as soon as possible as they preserve basically in the condition they're in when I get them, so be sure to set time aside for pickup or delivery of your flowers. The fresher, the better!
- What process do you use?
I dry the blooms in a sand mixture and then they are sprayed with a uv protectant and fixative. I then place them in whichever preservation method you've chosen. I have years of experience with different techniques to make your blooms last a lifetime.
- How long does it all take?
Usually it's 12-16 weeks. Depending on the flowers being processed, it can take shorter or longer. The more moisture that's in a bloom, the longer it takes to dry completely. Also, during wedding season, more time has to be given to processing fresh bouquets. As of now, I am a one-woman show!
- Are there any issues I should be aware of?
Working with resin can be tricky. Sometimes there can be bubbles that are beyond my control. I take every step possible to make the finished product absolutely perfect, but as it is art, some variations can occur. I will discuss this all with you in the contract you'll receive, so be sure to read that thoroughly.
- Are there any business you work closely with?
I work closely with Ruffled Willow, Drury Designs, Snapdragon Wagon, and others. I love helping their customers preserve a memory. I just ask that if you have any issues at all, please contact me, as their businesses are separate from Midnight Dahlia Studio.
I also offer pickup of flowers at an additional cost, so if you'd rather not have to worry about getting your blooms to me after your big day, make sure to discuss it with me before your big day so we can have a plan in place.
- Can you deliver or mail items?
Absolutely! I do free delivery within Clarksville city limits and can mail products for an additional shipping fee.
- I don't have a big budget but really want my flowers preserved. Can you do that?
Of course! I work with all budgets. I have to cover my costs, but I have budget-friendly options that we can work together to figure out. I also offer payment plans.
- Do you preserve things other than flowers?
I do! I can preserve objects with or without flowers. I am going to be offering breast milk and ash preservation soon, so be sure to check back often if you're interested in that.
- Do you do vendor events?
I do a limited number of events every year. I love bringing my products to people who may not see them day-to-day. However, I try to limit my events as it takes a lot of time and wears me out physically and mentally. If you are hosting an event you think I'd be a good fit for, please reach out!
- Can you make molds of something I already have and make a replica?
Definitely! I have made replacement gems for lamps, replica jewelry, and more. Send me a picture of what you need and I'm sure we can work something out!
- What mediums do you work with?
I currently specialize in resin, floating frames, and shadow boxes. However, I do have a degree in art and have used a lot of different mediums. Give me a shout if you're wondering about something!
